Wynn Las Vegas
Wynn Las Vegas - often simply referred to as Wynn - is located on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada, USA, and is the flagship hotel and casino resort property of Wynn Resorts Ltd, owned by casino developer Steve Wynn.
Wynn Las Vegas is a AAA Five Diamond casino resort covering 215 acres, with 2 716 rooms available to guests as well as a number of 650 m squared villas.
This extravagant hotel, designed along the themes imperfect dreams and life imitating art, cost a mammoth $2.7 billion (£1.54 billion) to build and at the time of its opening on April 28, 2005, it was the largest privately-funded construction project ever undertaken in the United States.
When it first opened, Wynn boasted a number of industry first and novelties, such as being the tallest hotel building on the Strip.
It also had the largest distribution of HDTV in the world, into hotel rooms using high-speed Cat-6 Ethernet cables, as well as the largest installation of Voice-Over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology for hotel phones.
Steve Wynn has cited a major shift in the design concept of this resort, compared to his previous hotels, including Bellagio and The Mirage.
In terms of the "Inside-Out' concept, there is no Las Vegas Strip attraction to entice passers-by. Instead, visitors must venture inside to experience the hotel. Wynn stated: "There is no franchise in a casual observer, there is a franchise in a guest."
Wynn Casino
Wynn Casino was the first Vegas casino to use one card as the casino frequent-player card and room key, as well as the first casino to include a car dealership (Ferrari-Maserati). It was also one of the first casinos to install Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags in its chips to combat counterfeiting.Wynn Casino is one of the most advanced casino resorts in the world and was designed to be able to incorporate future technological advances. It is one of the only Vegas casinos to already be entirely coin-free.
Shuttle Master supplies Wynn Casino with optical readers that can tell which cards are where on the table at any time. The company has also implemented a fully automated casino called Table Master, that requires no cards or dealer and can run 24/7 with optimal security and player tracking.
One possible future development is the introduction of casino-owned wireless handheld gaming consoles, so that guests can play their favourite games wherever they choose on the resort complex - be it beside the pool or in a restaurant.
