Owned and run by Harrah's Entertainment since 2005, the Caesars Palace casino lies on the west side of the Strip between Bellagio and The Mirage.

Over the following four decades, the casino at Caesars Palace has undergone several rennovations and expansions, but has always managed to retain its character and identity.

Caesars Palace has 3 348 rooms in five separate towers: Augustus, Centurion, Roman, Palace, and Forum.

The Forum tower features 93-m squared guest suites, while the Augustus Tower, opened in August 2005, stands 46 storeys high.

Caesars Palace is also home to the world-famous shopping mall, The Forums.

Caesars Palace History

Themed on the Roman Empire, Caesars Palace has, for many years, been the focal point of Las Vegas culture.

In 1981 and 1982, Caesars Palace hosted the Las Vegas Grand Prix - part of the Formula One Grand Prix World Championship - with the racetrack laid out in the Caesars Palace carpark.

In the 1980s a number of high-profile boxing matches were staged in Caesars Outdoor Arena. This included a fight between Muhammed Ali and Larry Holmes and three bouts between Evander Holyfield and Riddick Bowe.

Caesars Palace Casino

Caesars Palace offers 15 442 m squared of gaming space, including the Pussycat Dolls Casino - a section of the casino that has been open since the beginning of 2006 and is themed on Caesars Palace's Pussycat Dolls Nightclub.

A free shuttle is provided from Caesars Palace to its sister property, Rio Hotel and Casino, every half-an-hour.

Caesars Palace Future Plans

Harrah's is planning a $1 billion expansion, including another 29-storey, 1 017-room hotel tower and a sports complex, which will replace the events centre. This will include the following new features:

  • 3 400 m squared more casino space
  • 10 000 m squared of added retail area and restaurans, covering the area closest to the Strip and replacing the Roman Plaza
  • A "pedestrian promenade" with decorative fountains. The landscaping will guide Strip-walkers into Caesars Palace. Caesars will excavate a parking garage with 389 valet-parking spaces underneath the promenade.
