The Casino at The Empire

The Casino at The Empire transports all the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas right into the heart of London’s night scene.

Opened in May 2007, The Casino at The Empire takes up the ground floor of the luxurious Empire Building in London’s famous Leicester Square – formerly the home of the Empire Ballroom.

As the hottest new casino in London, The Casino at The Empire attracts the creme de la creme of London society, from business executives entertaining clients, to various media and sports celebrities, to people who simply want to be seen at the most happening venues around town.

Just off the main gaming floor you can find the Face to Face high-class poker room, which in 2007 hosted tournaments in the inaugural World Series of Poker Europe. The room also offers daily No-Limit Hold’em events and Learn to Play sessions, making it the perfect venue for serious poker players and novices alike.

The Empire Building

The first floor of the building is home to two restaurants. The dark and trendy Flame Bar and Grill – decorated in marble and dark wood – serves typically English and American dishes. Flame is perfectly complemented by the bright, modern FuLuShou, which serves lighter, pan-Asian food.

The Mocha ice cream bar is another must – you can watch the flavours being mixed together on a marble slab right in front of you!

The funky Shadow Bar offers anything from jazz to deck-spinning DJs, and on weekends guests are treated to Vegas-style routines featuring glamorous showgirls.

There is also an intimate cocktail lounge, while the mellow Icon Room for VIPs offers a relaxing atmosphere complete with candles and low, comfortable red sofas.

Hotels

Like most British casinos, The Casino at The Empire is smaller than its hotel and casino resort complex cousins in North America, Asia and other parts of the world, and is not part of a hotel resort.

Nevertheless, there are a host of hotels within walking distance from the casino. Here are just a few hotels less than half a kilometre from The Casino at The Empire:

  • Thistle Piccadilly (127 m)
  • Shaftesbury Piccadilly Hotel (157 m)
  • Radisson Edwardian Hampshire Hotel (162 m)
  • Radisson Edwardian Pastoria Hotel (208 m)
  • Thistle Trafalgar Square (220 m)
