Borgata

Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa is one of the more famous establishments in North America’s second gambling capital, Atlantic City.

It is virtually impossible to find an experience on the East Coast of the United States to rival this 2 000-room luxury hotel and casino resort, which opened in 2003 at Renaissance Pointe.

Borgata’s opening signalled the arrival of the first new hotel property in Atlantic City in 13 years and fuelled the revival of the city as a holiday destination – particularly for those looking to dabble a bit on the game tables.

Borgata – a joint venture between Boyd Gaming and MGM MIRAGE – has not disappointed in its attempt to rival established casinos in Las Vegas and New York, and has been the top-grossing casino for all but one month since its debut in Atlantic City.

Borgata Hotel and Casino

Borgata Hotel and Casino is designed in a classic Italian style, and all hotel rooms and suites boast elegant features including the following:

  • Floor-to-ceiling windows
  • 300-threadcount Egyptian cotton sheets and bath sheets
  • Large bathrooms with granite countertops and marble walls and floors
  • Expansive, glass-enclosed showers with therapeutic showerheads and body sprays
  • High-speed internet access

The accommodation offered at Borgata includes 2 Residences (5 000 square feet), 40 Piatto Suites (1 500 square feet) and 39 Opus Suites (1 000 square feet), as well as a number of other smaller suites and 1 600 Classic Rooms (460 square feet).

The hotel’s 7 000 parking spaces include 1 200 valet parking spaces.

The 161 000-square-foot casino floor provides enough space for a staggering 4 100 slot machines and 200 table games.

Borgata Casino boasts a new, 85-table Poker Room – the largest in Atlantic City – where it hosts daily tournaments. This is not all, however, and Borgata continues to host an increasing number of high-stakes tournaments in conjunction with the World Poker Tour.

Headline acts performing in Atlantic City now invariably make an appearance at the 2 400-seat Borgata Event Center. This has already hosted the likes of Pearl Jam, Gwen Stefani, Sting, Kelly Clarkson, Aerosmith and Lenny Kravitz.

There is also no shortage of choice when it comes to food, with 13 different restaurants in the resort complex, while the diverse range of bars and nightclubs must be seen to be believed.

Borgata’s 54 000-square-foot, European-style Spa Toccare houses a salon, fitness centre and barbershop. Spa Toccare offers a multitude of rejuvenating treatments, while the barbershop is the perfect getaway for the men, complete with a pool table and shoeshine!
